What does responsibility mean to you?

Our first character theme is responsibility. How would you explain to somebody who had no experience with character traits what responsibility is? How does a person who has a high level of responsibility think, feel, act... How can you tell somebody has a high level of responsibility? Why is it important to have a high level of responsibility?
